Written By blogger on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 | 12:55 PM

Sony today announced a special "Salute To Our Troops" event that will allow anyone who visits the Fort Riley military base in Kansas to play unreleased Playstation 4 games next week. The event is, in Sony's words, a way to "both honor and entertainment service men and women."

Fort Riley is already gaming-equipped. Its "Warrior Zone" has a dedicated gaming area, allowing service men and women to play video games across a number of platforms, includ ing Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4.

The Salute To Our Troops event begins Monday, June 9--the same day as Sony's E3 2014 press conference--and continues the next day. You can play unreleased PS4 games at the event, but there's no word on what titles will be on offer. Sony has even brought on country music star Brett Eldredge to perform a concert the evening of June 9. You can watch it through Sony's Live Events viewer app if you can't attend in person.

I f you don't live near Fort Riley, located in North Kansas, you can still try unreleased PS4 games by attending one of the stops on Sony's Road to Greatness tour.

"Thanks again to all active and retired military personnel . We are honored by your sacrifice," PlayStation executive John Koller said in a post on the PlayStation Blog.
