Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty, a remake of 1997's Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee, does more than just scale up the original game's 2D graphics. It has rebuilt the whole game in a new 3D engine, which means you can now move through Oddworld with a seamless scrolling camera, rather than transitioning between still screens. The remake has increased the number of Mudokons to rescue from the original game's 99 to 299.Every pre-rendered cutscene is also remastered in New 'n' Tasty, sometimes retaining the same camera angles and audio from the original game.Desp ite the violence and dark subject matter, the game still contains cartoonish visuals like Z's floating out of a sleeping slig.While some levels have had their layouts slightly altered in New 'n' Tasty, others are almost perfect replicas.The cutscenes aren't just rendered with new visuals; Abe is better animated, and more expressive in New 'n' Tasty.Moving through these nest levels, where you are being chased by multiple foes, is even more test with New 'n' Tasty's smooth scrolling camera.Some levels feature additional threats, like extra enemies or more land mines and motion sensors.On lower difficulties, chanting at these fireflies will restore your health.
