Sorry, PC gamers, it sounds like this November's Halo: The Master Chief Collection--an impressive bundle that includes remastered versions of Halo 1-4--is staying exclusive to Xbox One.
"We are focused all on [Xbox One]," 343 Industries general manager Bonnie Ross said in a new interview with IGN. "It is Master Chief's story, and it is Mast er Chief's story on [Xbox One]. So at this time, we have no plans or nothing to announce for PC."
Ross's comments don't rule out a PC release for The Master Chief Collection down the road, but it appears that come launch on November 11, the Xbox One will be the only place to play the game. It's not much of a surprise that The Master Chief Collection is coming only to Xbox One; after all, it is one of Microsoft's biggest Xbox One exclusives for this year and is no doubt seen as a system-seller. If it were to come to PC right out of the gate, gamers would have less of an incentive to buy an Xbox One.
A retail listing for a PC version of The Master Chief Collection appeared last week, but Microsoft was quick to shoot this down, saying the product page was posted in error.
In addition to the remaste red versions of the numbered Halo games, The Master Chief Collection includes access to Ridley Scott's live-action show Halo: Nightfall. Buying the bundle will also secure you a spot in the Halo 5: Guardians beta, which runs December 29-January 19.
