Bungie's blockbuster shooter Destiny has grossed more than $325 million in five days since its release, publisher Activision has announced.
Though the corporation previously noted that it had made $500 million from selling stock units to retailers and first parties, since release it has made about £325 million from customer purchases.
That data is based on Activision's internal estimates, based on data from sales monitors, first parties, and retailers.
Activision has yet to reveal sales unit data for Destiny.
However, the publisher claims that Destiny players have logged more than 100 million hours of online play in a single week since its release--a figure which Activision claims puts it in the same league as Call of Duty's popularity.
"Destiny fans played more than 100 million hours of the game in the first week. That's on par with the engagement levels of our most popular Call of Duty games, which obviously is an industry leader," said Activision publishing executive Eric Hirshberg.
"Millions of gamers are having a great time playing Destiny and can't put down their controllers. And this is just the beginning. Destiny is a platform that will grow and evolve and we will continue to work closely with our partners at Bungie to bring a long line of new experiences and content to life in the game."
