I'm a big Kevin Durant fan. I think he's spectacular to watch, and he appears to be a really classy guy at a time when numerous athletes are earning themselves bad reputations. It's a shame, then, that the latest trailer for NBA 2K15, which Durant serves as the cover star for, makes him look incredibly awkward.
2K today unveiled a new feature for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC versions of 2K15 called 2KTV. Put simply, it's an in-game show hosted by Rachel A. DeMita that will feature in terviews with 2K15's develo pers and NBA players along with gameplay highlights, events, and more. It's a neat idea for those who are really plugged into the NBA 2K or basketball scenes, and 2K15 players will get to check out the first episode on launch day, October 7.
But, goodness, the video showcases this new feature in weird fashion, as Durant watches DeMita explain all of this. Rather than showing highlights of what 2KTV will be like, or keeping the video of DeMita that has so enthralled Durant on-screen, a good portion of the video consists of Durant's "reactions" to all of this. (Something tells me this wasn't his idea.) He occasionally comments on what he's seeing, and other times, he simply stares at the screen with a smile on his face. It's inexplicable and weird, like something out of a Tim and Eric production.
"Yo, that's crazy. A TV show in a video game?"
Indeed, KD. Indeed.
