Publisher Bethesda has adjusted the UK release date for The Evil Within so that it ships on the same day as in North America.
The cross-gen title, which marks Shinji Mikami's return to survival horror, will ship across Europe and North America on Tuesday, October 14.
It's customary in the UK for publishers to release their games on Fridays, though in recent years this has changed with some triple-A releases. Titles such as Call of Duty tend to ship globally to help minimise leaks and piracy, as well as concentrate marketing efforts.
The Evil Within has been developed at Shinji Mikami's Tokyo studio, Tango Gameworks, which was acquired by Bethesda in 2010. Mikami has a famed history of developing survival horror games, having been instrumental in the development of the Resident Evil series.
The game has been developed for five platforms; PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3.
Though its European launch date has been moved to October 14, the Australia and New Zealand release dates (October 16) have not changed.
