Similar to the promotions we frequently see on Steam, Microsoft is giving Xbox Live Gold members free access to one of the Xbox One's best games, Forza Motorsport 5, this weekend.
Beginning on Thursday (at 12:01 AM Pacific), anyone with an Xbox Live Gold membership will be able to download Forza 5 for free and play it as much as they want until Sunday night (at 11:59 PM Pacific). You'll have unrestricted access to the game, and will be able to unlock achievements and participate in a special in-game endurance event, the Grand Tour of Prague. Once the weekend is over, you'll be able to buy the game (either through the Xbox One's online store or at retail) and pick up from where you left off.
Players in the United S tates will also be able to enter a sweepstakes for a three-day trip to Arizona's Bondurant School of High Performance Driving, where they'll be able to participate in the Forza Motorsport Grand Prix Road Racing Class.
This promotion comes just weeks prior to the release of the next game in the Forza series, Forza Horizon 2. Launching on September 30 for Xbox One and Xbox 360, Horizon 2 will be getting a demo on September 16.
Forza 5 was released last November alongside the Xbox One. For some idea of what to expect when you download it, check out our review.
