Dark Souls 2

Namco Bandai and From Software have mailed us this morning with a delighted announcement of not one (or two) but three new pieces of DLC for Dark Souls 2, a trilogy of new adventures.

The first chapter, Crown of the Sunken King, kicks off on July 22. Crown of the Iron King follows on August 26, and Crown of the Ivory King on September 24. PlayStation 3 players will get theirs precisely one day later than each of these dates.

A Season Pass has just been activated on Steam today — you can see it here, and it will cost you $26.99.

Here's the official word on Crown of the Sunken King:

Crown of the Sunken King, the first chapter in the trilogy, sends players on a journey to reclaim the crowns that Drangleic's King Vendrick once owned. Crown of the Sunken King features an entirely different world within the DARK SOULS II universe, where stepped pyramids span a vast underground cavern. It is said that one of the ancient crowns lay buried deep within these dark caverns; but surely such a valued item cannot sit unguarded. Players that seek adversity and glory will be rewarded with a crown that holds the strength of lords from times long past.

What do you reckon? Relatedly, this guy beat Dark Souls 2 in 20 minutes yesterday, so watch that.
