E3 2014: EA Says Titanfall Is the Best-Selling Xbox One Game to Date

Respawn Entertainment's multiplayer-focused shooter Titanfall is the best-selling Xbox One game to date, Electronic Arts COO Peter Moore told Game Informer in an interview today.

"Sales are always going to be inhibited and governed by the install base, but [Titanfall] is attaching incredibly well," Moore said. "Titanfall is the best-selling title on Xbox One lifetime to date."

Moore did not share an official sales tally for Titanfall, but EA previously said the game sold 925,000 units at retail in March alone, though that figure also counts PC sales and only applies to the United States. The Xbox 360 version of Titanfall launched in April.

Part of the reason why Titanfall might be selling so well is because of the $499 Xbox One bundle that includes a copy of the game.

Last month, EA announced that it had reached a deal with Respawn Entertainment to make more Titanfall "experiences." Earlier this week, The Wall Street Journal reported that Titanfall 2 is in the planning stages and will come to Xbox One and PlayStation 4. This is notable because the first Titanfall was exclusive to Xbox and PC.

This week at E3, Respawn Entertainment announced new features and functionality for Titanfall, including a Marked for Death mode, as well as titan customization and titan burn cards. For more on Titanfall, check out GameSpot's review.
