Square Enix will finally release Final Fantasy Type-0 in the US and Europe, Square Enix has announced. The original PSP game was originally released in Japan back in 2011, and never made it outside of its home territory. Until now.
Final Fantasy Type-0 HD will be a jazzed up version for the PS4, Xbox One. It is not mentioned if the PS4 and Vita versions will support Sony's Cross-Buy or Cross-Save initiatives. Additionally, Type-0 spin-off Final Fantasy Agito will also be coming to iOS and Android. Agito was released in Japan last month, and is set in the same universe as Type-0. Both games are set in the Fabula Nova Crystallis subseries, which is also the home of Final Fantasy XIII and its two sequels.
"I'd like to start this out by thanking everyone who let us know how badly you wanted this game to come to North America," wrote Square Enix product manager Sakura Minamida on the PlayStation Blog. "Ever since the original PlayStation Portable release in Japan, you guys have never given up on it, raising your voices in an effort to see this title come to North America and Europe."
Final Fantasy Agito will be a free-to-play game on iOS and Android, complete with in-app purchases. There is no release date for either Final Fantasy Type-0 or Final Fantasy Agito.
