At its E3 2014 press conference, Electronic Arts showed off The Sims 4, promising that for the first time, you would be able to control "your sims' hearts." The trailer showed off a circumstance in which a sim would remember their interactions from previous days, and how the resulting mood could affect the sims around him.
While most of the demonstration did not express what makes The Sims 4 an improvement over The Sims 3, EA stated at the end of the demo that you would be able to download other players' sims and add them to your world, personalities and all, which is a new feature.
