Next Game From Sleeping Dogs Dev Launching in 2015

The next game from Sleeping Dogs developer United Front Games--which most recently worked on Tomb Raider Definitive Edition--is a free-to-play game that will launch in 2015. The untitled game will be published by prolific free-to-play publisher Nexon America, the company announced today. Platforms were not announced, but Nexon is a principally PC outfit.

"Nexon brings an unparalleled wealth of knowledge of the growing free-to-play market," United Front Games CEO Stephen van der Mescht said in a statement. "We are thrilled to partner with a publisher who has an excellent track record of building direct and meaningful relationships with players."

Founded in 2007 by former members of Electronic Arts, Rockstar Vancouver, and Radical Entertainment, United Front Games also worked on Sony games like ModNation Racers and LittleBigPlanet Karting. Neither Nexon nor United Front Games announced further details about their current project.

"We are committed to bringing a new line-up of AAA-quality free-to-play games to the Western market, and our partnership with United Front Games is another step toward achieving this goal," Nexon CEO Owen Mahoney said. "United Front Games' team has a great track record of developing successful titles, and we're looking forward to showing the world what our combined strengths can create in 2015."

Nexon is perhaps best known as the publisher of free-to-play MMO MapleStory, but the company is branching out with the new project from United Front Games and others. The company will also publish Dirty Bomb, the upcoming game from Brink developer Splash Damage, as well as former Call of Duty developer Robert Bowling's new game, Human Element. On top of those projects, Nexon has a minority stake in former Firaxis Games veteran Brian Reynolds' new company, SecretNew Co, and has signed a deal to publish its first game.
