Spec Ops: The Line developer Yager Development will show off its next game--a brand new franchise--during E3 2014 in Los Angeles next week. The developer said on Twitter (via CVG) that it has partnered with new publisher Grey Box , and added that, "Boy, are we excited ;)"
Unfortunately, there's not much to go on regarding what this game might be. In late 2013, job listings at the German developer suggested the studio was working on a "AAA F2P" game, adding to earlier reports that the game would be military-themed and potentially include microtransactions and cross-platform play.
This project is believed to be the Unreal Engine 4-powered next-generation game that the studio announced in March 2013. For more on Spec Ops: The Line, a thi rd-person shooter for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC published by 2K Games, check out GameSpot's review.
E3 2014 officially runs June 10-12, though Monday, June 9 is expected to be the heaviest day of all for news--Microsoft, Sony, Electronic Arts, and Ubisoft are all holding their press conferences during the day. GameSpot will be on the ground at the show bringing you all the news as it happens.
