One chapter that ends on a sore note.

From good to bad news, the makers of Dreamfall Chapters have announced that their musical competition has been cancelled and will never return again. In a post on their Kickstarter page, Red Thread explained that the competition "was not an attempt on our part to commission free music for the game" but an attempt to benefit both the game and the community by featuring some of the latter's own work.
"We sincerely apologise to those of you who already submitted tracks: we will respond individually and personally via email. After having listened to a few of the pieces — the number of submissions after just a couple of hours was almost staggering," the developers wrote.
Backers have placed the blame for the competition's closure over complaints that the studio may have been soliciting work for free. Red Thread explicitly denied this, but perhaps the closure will give them time to come up with an idea that allows for non-controversial collaborations from the community.
