Aussie develope gives Kickstarter a second go.

After failing in late December with Super World Karts GP, Townsville-based developer Paul Hamilton is giving Kickstarter another crack at the crowdfunding gig with Super World Karts.
This time, however, Hamilton appears to have learned some lessons. Instead of simply reviving Wacky Wheels – which, incidentally, you can now purchase on Good Old Games for US$6 – the Queensland is adding some quirkier modes to appeal to backers. This week, Hamilton lifted the lid on Fist Fight Arena and Toto Temple Deluxe, two battle arena modes with a twist.
The first, Fist Fight Arena, gives each character a spring loaded glove which you have to charge into opposing racers with. The latter is a domination-style challenge, where you have to hold onto a goat (by driving into it, obviously) long enough to rack up 4000 points.
On their own, they're not wholly unique, but I quite like the idea of domination attached to a kart racer. I can imagine things becoming a bit chaotic though – someone holding the goat gets slammed into the corner, with everyone else piling in, at which point the action grinds to a halt before someone reverses away and then its service as normal until everyone reconvenes in another corner.
Still, Australian development is something I have a lot of time for. So here's Super World Karts. It fell short by a few thousand dollars last time. Right now, there's 15 days left on the campaign with just under US$8000 to go. Back the campaign, don't back the campaign. I haven't backed the campaign, but then that's because I'm waiting for my dose of kart racing in Project CARS. If you want something more light-hearted though, maybe give Super World Karts a second look.
Put the internet to work for you.
