Alan Wake 2 Still On Remedy's Radar

Though Finnish developer Remedy Entertainment, creator of the Max Payne series, is working full steam ahead on 2015's Xbox One game, Quantum Break, the studio says it would still like to return to the Alan Wake franchise some time in the future.

"We're really, really proud of all the games we have made," creative director Sam Lake told Xbox Achievements. "And obviously all of them are dear to us. They have a special place in our hearts. You never know about the future and as have we have said about Alan Wake, the sequel didn't work out at this point. But definitely we are looking for opportunities to do more, someday, when the time is right."

Earlier this year, Lake said Remedy "worked hard" to make Alan Wake 2 happen, but acknowledged that it could not find the right partners or funding to make it a reality. "The time wasn't right for that," he said at the time, going on to explain that Remedy could have released a "less ambitious" Alan Wake 2, but this would not have done the series justice.

The original Alan Wake launched in 2010 for Xbox 360, before coming to PC in 2012. A sta ndalone entry, Alan Wake's American Nightmare, was also released in 2012. Altogether, the Alan Wake series has sold more than 3 million copies, according to Remedy.
