Select fans of the PlayStation 4 action-RPG Bloodborne have received invites to take part in the game's closed alpha test.
Email invites are currently being sent to a limited number of people across Europe, though it is unclear how people have qualified for the invite. A message to those accepted reads: "Your skill and dedication have been recognized, you have been selected for a chance to join the exclusive Bloodborne Alpha Test."
Judging by the message, these invites do not appear to guarantee access to the alpha, but a "chance" to be selected.
Those who have not received an invite can still register their interest via the PSN website. Enrollment ends Tuesday September 23.
Bloodborne is in development at From Software, a Tokuyo studio famed for its work on Demon's Souls and Dark Souls.
This PS4-only title is due for release on February 5, 2015 in Japan, though Sony has yet to announce a Bloodborne release date outside of Japan, and it's unclear whether work on localizing the game will impact its western launch date.
