Update: The Queen's Wrath bounties have gone live, Bungie has announced via its official Twitter page.
Original story: Bungie has revealed new updates and challenges it will bring to Destiny in the days and weeks ahead.
First is a weekend-long Crucible playlist, called Combined Arms, which runs from Friday September 19 to Sunday 21. Players can form Fireteams of six for this vehicle-focused Crucible mode, which also features "more regular" heavy ammo drops. Rewards include Crucible gear, marks, and reputation.
Then, from September 23 to October 6, a spate of custom bounties will emerge. The Queen's Wrath will task players to take out "enemies of the Reef" across a number of bounty task s. Bungie adds that The Queen's Wrath includes "mission modes" that will be rewarded with Unique Legendary Gear and Unique Rare Gear.
Bungie also outlined two more additions set to go live in the near future, though the studio didn't go into detail. It says that the Salvage playlist is also due before the end of September, which comes with the somewhat ambiguous description: "Dead Orbit covets rare artefacts."
Then in October, a new Crucible playlist called Iron Banner will go live.
Writing on the official Bungie website, the studio says "there should always be something new to experience every time you play Destiny."
It added: "To give you new reasons to bring the fight to our enemies--and to each other--we've loaded our cannons with some more special events. Some of them will recur regularly. Ot hers will happen when you least expect them."
These new additions come days after Bungie unlocked its first Raid mode, called Vault of Glass, which the studio says was the most challenging mission it has ever created.
