Epic Destiny Live-Action Trailer Features Led Zeppelin, Will Air Tonight During NFL Debut

Activision today released an epic, live-action trailer for Bungie's upcoming shooter, Destiny, which launches now in just five days. The two-minute spot is appropriately titled "Become Legend," and was directed by Joseph Kosinski, director of recent sci-fi movies Oblivion and Tron: Legacy.

The advertisement features Led Zeppelin's thumping track, "Immigrant Song," which is quite fitting, given the spot shows a team of Guardians journey ing from their homes and through the solar system. A 90-second version of the video will debut tonight on NBC during the NFL season opener between the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks and the Green Bay Packers. The game starts at 8:30 PM EDT, though there is no word yet on when the Destiny commercial will air during the game.

This is the announcement Bungie teased last night. The commercial was created by Activision, Bungie, and marketing firm 72andSunny.

Destiny launches September 9 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4. The game could sell as many as 15 million copies this year alone, according to one analyst. Activision itself believes that the game may become its third billion-dollar series, joining Call of Duty and Skylanders.
