Even Kevin Durant Plays NBA 2K15 as LeBron James

Kevin Durant was the guest on The Tonight Show last night to promote the upcoming release of NBA 2K15. Despite the game featuring him on the cover and being among the best players in it, Durant admitted that he doesn't play as his own real-world team, the Oklahoma City Thunder.

In the clip above, host Jimmy Fallon and Durant discuss the latter's gaming habits. Having played NBA games for the past 15 years, Durant says he's quite good at the 2K series. (GoldenEye, too, which Fallon recently played with Pierce Brosnan.) He and his friends even stage tournaments during the summer, and he gets competitive en ough that he breaks controllers. That's one thing you now might be able to say you have in common with one of the best basketball players on Earth.

He does all of this without taking control of the virtual version of him, however--something he says would be "arrogant." Pressed by Fallon for whom he plays as, Durant admitted, "LeBron," which in my experience comfortably puts him in a group with the majority of 2K players online.

NBA 2K15 launches on October 7 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC. 2K just today released the latest trailer for the game, following the recent reveals of features like real player voices in MyCareer mode and a way to scan your face into the game.
