In the wake of the Watch_Dogs release, it's nice to know that Ubisoft really – really, guys – are trying to improve the state of things for PC gamers. Although the news that NVIDIA and Ubisoft are expanding their partnership through the GameWorks program will probably be met with something approaching trepidation by most of you, which, particularly if you have an SLI (or Crossfire, for AMD) setup like myself, is understandable, really. SLI support really is a post-launch thing for multi-platform releases these days.

Nevertheless, the two corporations are making the right sounds. "NVIDIA's GameWorks Team is working closely with Ubisoft's development studios to incorporate cutting edge graphics technology and gaming innovations to create game worlds that deliver unprecedented realism and immersion. NVIDIA's GameWorks technology includes TXAA antialiasing, which provides Hollywood-levels of smooth animation, soft shadows, HBAO+ (horizon-based ambient occlusion), advanced DX11 tessellation, and NVIDIA PhysX technology," the small press release says.

And that's pretty much it, two teams pledging to work even closer together. It's nice that efforts will be stepped up ahead of The Crew, The Division and anything else Ubisoft brings to Windows in the future, although if there's continued issues with uPlay … well, there's not a great deal NVIDIA can do about that. But we'll see how it goes.
