LBGT convention gets a new lease of life.

After concerns about ongoing funding, the GaymerX LBGT-friendly gaming convention in the United States has revived as GX3: Everyone Games. The convention has already been backed by major developers and publishers, including Goat Simulator makers Coffee Stain Studios, indie publisher Devolver Digital, Blizzard, Mike Bithell and Dim Bulb Games, but the event still needs another US$80,000 to get off the ground.
To that end, the organisers have started a Kickstarter campaign to get them the rest of the way. Just under US$37,000 is required with 22 days remaining, although things are in a fair healthier state than they were in April when the convention looked dead, buried and cremated. "With amazing devs and publishers willing to put their money up to help save the concept of an awesome safe space for queer geeks and their friends, it means the world that we're able to potentially continue this convention," Matt Conn, founder and CEO of GaymerX, said.
The campaign also explained the change of name. "We've become more and more aware that not all of our attendees identify with the 'gaymer' label. And while we love all our gay dude friends, we realize there are more people than that who want an awesome space to hang with their friends in a safe and diverse environment. We want to make sure we represent everyone who feels like they've been left out of mainstream gamer culture."
GX3 is planned for November or December next year in San Francisco's Bay Area. If the event interests you, or you just want to show your support, then go check the campaign out.
