Have you ever played any form of fantasy RPG and thought the mage was fun – but not quite fun enough? Have you looked at non-mage characters with despair and disgust? Well then do I have the game for you, you RPG racist.

Lichdom: Battlemage, a game designed entirely around the concepts that mages are awesome and everything else is rubbish, has launched on Steam today. Like being a mage? Well then enjoy immense spell casting ability with no cooldowns and no mana. It's all spells, all the time, as many times as you want.

The feature list explains things pretty well:

  • The first game completely empower the mage – no mana or cool-downs.
  • The deepest spell crafting system in the world with literally thousands of possibilities.
  • Unprecedented character customization – you are your spells.
  • Brutal enemies relentlessly challenge you throughout the game.
  • Core game and New Game Plus provide hundreds of hours of gameplay.
  • CryENGINE® 3 provides a beautifully violent experience.
  • This story is only a small glimpse into a much greater universe.

And the trailer, well, speaks for itself.

Well, I'm sold. Especially when Gina Torres from Suits is voicing the trailer. You can pick up Lichdom: Battlemage for US$40 over on Steam.
